Most contemporary psychological therapeutic approaches are predecessors of ancient and medieval philosophies and theories. Cognitive behavioral therapy as one of the modern treatment methods in a non-independent treatment, several theories have contributed to its current form and application. The purpose of this article is to analyze the therapeutic approaches that have contributed to the emergence of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The article presents and analyzes the contributions made by previous psychological treatment methods at the height of CBT. To this end, the document presents the main treatment methods considered most important and analyzes their main arguments in detail. It also tries to show the logical transition of treatment methods prior to CBT. For the purposes of this article it is best to start from the medieval period in which modern psychological treatment began.
