Effect of acids and basesExperiments to determine the effect of acids and bases on different indicators and the pH of common detergentsThe purpose of the first series of experiments is to discover and record the color changes observed after that a certain indicator has been mixed with acids and bases to form a color reaction. Once the selected indicator has been mixed with an acid that is both weak and strong and a base/alkali that is both weak and strong, we need to record the color and choose another indicator. The purpose of this experiment is to find out which indicators are sensitive to which areas of the pH color spectrum, while also observing how the universal indicator covers most areas of the pH spectrum in general but much less accurately. The purpose of the second experiment is to find out the pH levels of different household cleaners and then study the results. The main purpose of this experiment is to provide an idea whether detergents are basic or acidic for our general knowledge. The only prediction I made in the first experiment was to know what color would be shown after the reaction with the universal indicator. This is because I already had the pH table of this indicator with me to confirm the colors against the pH. In the second experiment I made a prediction: almost all detergents would have a different pH level. I thought this because all household cleaners are suitable for removing various things such as grease and mold and for cleaning...
