The fact that many people do not necessarily know the dangers to our environment due to pollution is exciting. Watching the films A Civil Action, Tapped, and Erin Brockovich brings attention to how our environment is affected in many circumstances, as well as the fact that companies don't care how big the number is when they receive their earnings. There are many questions on EPA.gov regarding the plots of each of the three films. Including A Civil Action and the dumping of hazardous materials into water, Tapped and the impact water bottles have on pollution, and Erin Brockovich, where pollution makes innocent people sick. Another idea to put into perspective is the trail we humans leave behind as we move forward. This can be seen in the film The Human Footprint and on the World Wild Life website. A common theme seen in the films A Civil Action, Tapped, and Erin Brockovich is that the producer is always focused on money and doesn't care about what his company is doing with innocent people. and our environment. For example, companies like Nestlé, Coca-Cola and Pepsi in the short documentary Tapped have a greater impact on our environment than you might think. These companies produce plastic bottles that cause drastic pollution. Yes, pollution is caused by the production of plastic bottles themselves, but the sheer amount of plastic water bottles found in the ocean is staggering. Despite the amount of pollution they provide, they still continue these bad habits that slowly kill us based on how much money they make in the process. Another example where the best companies focus only on money, regardless of the case, can be found in A Civil Action and Erin Brockovich. A call for civil action... middle of paper... our people have one thing in common that could have helped factories close or drastically change regulations. If these companies did not pay close attention to the amount of their income at the end of the day, the pollution could be minimal and so could the damage inflicted on innocent people. The plastic shown in Tapped is one of the biggest causes of pollution in our world today as the materials used to make it and the waste left behind infect the environment. The ocean is effectively turning into a “plastic soup” (Tapped). This also includes diapers from The Human Footprint. Even things like the dumping of hazardous materials into the water in A Civil Action and the pollution case with Erin Brockovich in Erin Brockovich can cause serious danger in many ways. Luckily for the EPA, the world and the environment can hold out a little longer due to regulations.
