The Sunni belief system is to surrender to Allah. They see Allah as the creator, peacemaker and restorer of the world. Allah's words are found in the Quran which was revealed to his messenger Muhammad. They had to do the Five Pillars; five daily prayers, a welfare tax called zakat, fasting (during the month of Ramadan) and a pilgrimage to Mecca, and believing that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is his. Sunni Islam believed that after Muhammad's death the right capable person for the job, who was Muhammad's best friend, should take over. Sunni Islam is monotheistic, meaning they believe in one god. Sunni Islam also has a deity which is Allah which means a god or goddess. The belief system of Sunni Islam and Christianity are both monotheistic. They both also believe that Jesus is one of the greatest prophets. Sunni Islam and Christianity also have some type of scripture that talks about their god.
