It's a really good tactic here to get people to come back and shop when they know they can get free items or lower prices at the end. An example would be that for every PKR 10 you spend in a store, you get 1 point. By accumulating 100 points you can get a gift worth PKR 300. Things like these increase loyalty and keep customers staying longer. I think if Pakistan had a more connected and online presence when it comes to the general public, the sales promotional tactics would be a little different. For example, since most people in Pakistan are contactless, sales promotions such as coupons, discounts, and online competitions would be more difficult to distribute primarily through mass communication. Some infrastructure facilitates certain sales promotions, but most can be done with the simplest method possible. Coupons can be paper, discounts can be returned to the store for benefits, and samples are always possible. We can see that sales promotions really influence customer spending.
