Social media comes from two types of terms which are "social" and "media". The term social refers to the basic human need to connect with other human beings, while media refers to what we use to connect with other human beings. The term social media is attributed to Chris Shirpel who states the term social media used to describe online tools and utilities that enable online information communication, participation and collaboration. In social media, there are different categories such as blogs, social networking sites, wikis, podcasting, videocasting and social bookmarking. The first category of social media is blogging. The blog is used by the user as a diary in which other people can comment on it. Apart from this, blogging is also a field of information for some people. Secondly, social networking sites allow people to interact with other people using online networking. Social networking sites have become more prominent in recent years where they can be used via Android mobile phones, for example, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. The third category is wikis, wiki basically a website that allows users to add, edit, edit and remove website content. The fourth category is podcasting and videocasting. Podcasting is a form of distributing audio recordings over the Internet. An example of podcasting is the Internet “radio station”. Videocasting is the same as podcasting where videocasting in the form of video files is downloaded via the Internet. The last category is social bookmarking, which means storing any links. Having social bookmarking could help the user to find that particular website easily. The example of social bookmarking is Delicious and Digg. Social media has been the most important thing in many contexts... in the center of the paper... just for interaction but also as a means of information. Social media focuses on people's ability to collaborate and share information online. Social media helps people stay connected even if they live far from each other. In social media it can lead to a downside when these tools are misused by the user where they interfere with the user's privacy. This shows that there will be many more threats and risks that the user will face if they do not take active measures to protect their privacy, rather than relying on the policies of social networking sites. (Krishnamurthy & Wills, 2008). In Malaysia, social media usage among people is 66% compared to 2008. Most Malaysians spend their time browsing social media, where about 20 hours per week, of which 33%. Recently, social media has become very famous and mostly used by people all over the world.
