Topic > Choose Your College Wisely - 705

College is a big step in anyone's life, especially when it starts before high school is even over. However, there are options for making this leap, and two common ones are online classes and college in school (CIS). There are many differences, as well as similarities when it comes to the two. Of course the most obvious thing that makes these two similar is that they are both college class options. Additionally, each of them gives the student the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree before graduating. However, after taking both types of classes, I have found that online is the better option. In my opinion, there are many advantages to online over CIS. For one thing, tests and quizzes are graded immediately by the computer, so the student knows immediately what the grade was on the assessment. Where if it had been a normal university/high school environment they would have had to wait to get the grade and stress out for who knows how long, where with online they would have already known. Conversely, if there happens to be a problem with the grade on the assessment or even the daily work, the student has limited access to the instructor. If there is a problem in the CIS, this can easily be discussed with the teacher and resolved face to face. While online, if a problem occurs, the only option is to email or possibly call the instructor, however if the student is having problems with the computer, such as crashing, crashing, etc. Email is out of the question and the teacher's phone number is usually on the site as well. Even though there is this little bump in the road when it comes to online, it can be easily overlooked by another of the benefits of online and that is flexibility. The online planning aspect is what I find to be the best part, because the courses are designed to fit into... middle of the paper... sections, look up what they need, take notes, and ask others about the 'assignment. All to ensure clarity of the assignment before even starting it. As well as being able to continue to contact and work with other students from the comfort of your home, office, hotel room, etc. In conclusion, online courses are the best option for any student. The benefits of having a flexible schedule, being able to learn at your own pace, as well as having the ability to work wherever is convenient. It eliminates any disadvantages that can be discussed. So when it comes time to make the leap to taking a college course, all I can say is choose wisely.
