Playing favorites for one person while holding the other accountable for theirs is not ethically fulfilling my oath to be a police officer. Giving special treatment to people with a higher level of citizenship would cause much discord among all the residents I patrol. This could cause citizens to feel unsafe and rebel in ways that would make life unpleasant. As a police officer my ethical responsibility takes precedence over my personal opinions. I don't make the laws but I have to implement them as they are presented. It's not up to me to make changes. If there is a conflict between my ethical responsibility and personal opinions, I will move forward with the ethical responsibility as I have promised to do. If I couldn't do that, I wouldn't be a police officer. My personal opinions align with my ethical responsibilities, which makes it very easy for me. If at any time I found out I was struggling with this, I would find another
