The brain and the mind are delicate things. When someone can once have everything they ever wanted, changing their opinions, influenced or not by others, they cling to something or someone for comfort. They believe everything they encounter, and even if it is far from the truth, they create illusions that are not realized by their reasonable and logical mental thinking. In the case of Othello, Iago exploits the flaws of many characters, to his own advantage. He is far from a genius, he simply exploits every mistake and every fault of the characters to advance his plot. Despite being Othello's "trustworthy" servant, his status is what ensures his revenge against anyone who comes between him and his goal. Iago becomes Rodrigo's controller by playing on his obsession with Desdemona; he preys on Othello's mind, using his jealousy against him, and exploits Cassio's weak state, when he is dismissed from the position of lieutenant, which severely ruins his pride and reputation. He uses each character's flaws - obsession, jealousy and pride - to get what he wants. It is precisely these flaws that lead to the downfall of many characters. This shows how humans' perspective is controlled by the difficult situations they are challenged with, not by people. The first of many people to fall under Iago's influence is Roderigo. Roderigo's obsession with Desdemona leads him to lose his perception of reality. When he finds out about Desdemona's marriage to Othello, he feels: “it is foolishness to live when living is torment; and then / I have [him] a prescription to die when death is [his] doctor” (Othello, 1.3.308-309). At this point, to make Roderigo believe that he will be able to capture Desdemona, Iago plays on Othello a... means of paper......ief of a traitor Cassio. Cassio, who thinks Iago is good at heart, does not suspect Iago of any evil and is not aware that his every action changes the fate of many. Iago is a two-faced person, who adapts to the situation that arises, in order to exact his revenge. He has many personalities, in which he proves to be an honest man, but underneath he actually hides an intriguing monster. What Iago does is attack when everyone is in shock or willing to do anything. However, Iago is not the only player in play, as Othello's jealousy, Roderigo's obsession, and Cassio's reputation, make them all vulnerable to attack. However, Iago does not tell lies, he leaves clues that many characters take, leading to their downfall. Yet Iago, as all villains do, left some stones unturned, which also led to his downfall.
